Cottonwood Valley Charter School offers a rigorous academic program designed to meet the individual needs of each student while developing habits of success, civic responsibility, and global awareness. The school offers the community a parent-driven public school choice in which teachers, students, and parents are partners.

Organizational
Goal# 1
Goal #1 Parent Engagement.
At least 65% of the parents at CVCS will complete the parent survey and one volunteer activity during each year of the Charter School Performance Contract.
Family/School participation will be measured by the following:
Volunteer hours by family members: volunteer documentation forms
Number of families volunteering: volunteer documentation forms
During each year of operation during the current charter term at least 80% of parents will participate in each of the following parent involvement activities: a) beginning of year orientations, b) PLP meetings, c) mid year parent-teacher conferences and d) parent surveys. Family/School participation will be measured by the following:
Attendance at PLP meetings and parent-teacher conferences: sign-in sheets

Goal# 3
Goal #3 Community Connection
Every grade, K-8, will participate in at least 12 community experiences every school year as measured by the Community Connections classroom documentation form. These experiences will include at least one activity from each of the following areas:

Connecting the Curriculum to Real World, Hands-On Experiences
Community Service
Environmental Awareness
Engagement with the community will be measured by the following:

Academic
Goal# 1
Grades 3-8 Student Achievement Goals
Reading and Math:
Students in grades 3-8 will show growth based on their performance on the new Achievement Network (ANET) interim assessments (IAs). Growth will be determined as follows, based on how the student scored on the first IA:
- 25% or lower- grows by 15% from IA 1 to IA 4
- 26%-49%- grows by 10% from IA 1 to IA 4
- 50%-59%- grows by at least 5% from IA 1 to IA 4
- 60% or higher- maintains or increases their score from IA 1 to IA 4

Goal# 2
Grades K-2 Achievement Goals
-Reading:
Students in grades K-2 will achieve one year’s growth on the Reading iStation exam, defined as maintaining or increasing their overall percentile rank from BOY to EOY.
• Exceeds School Goal - 80% or more of K-2 students tested will achieve 1 year’s growth on the Reading iStation.
• Meets School Goal - 60% to 79% of students will achieve 1 year’s growth on the Reading iStation.
-Math
Students in grades K-2 will achieve one year’s growth on the Math iStation exam, defined as maintaining or increasing their overall percentile rank from BOY to EOY:
